Justice Chidinma Thompson was recently recognized by the CBA Women Lawyers Forum and the CBA Judges Section in the Black History Month edition of the Madam Justice Project.

Justice Thompson was appointed to the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta on October 23, 2023 after a fascinating journey from her birthplace in Nigeria to Canada. Prior to her appointment to the bench, she practiced law in Africa and in Canada. In addition to her career as a lawyer, adjudicator, arbitrator, and judge, Justice Thompson is an accomplished academic, writer, and lecturer.
